Co-Founded by Bamdad Raissnia in 2002in San Francisco,Peace Industry is dedicated to reviving the Iranian craft of the felt rug, also known as theNamad.Recognizing the decline of this craft compared to the more-renowned knotted rug, Bamdad embarked on a year-long journey across Iran to locate and collaborate with the remaining felt makers. Through hands-on engagement and experimentation, he learned and also developed the traditional techniques, leading to the establishment of Peace Industry's own workshop near the city of Isfahan.After over two decades of experience,Peace Industryhas become a pioneer in creating high-quality feltrugs that seamlessly blend ancient and modern aesthetics. They actively collaborate with artists and designers worldwide, resulting in innovative rug collections that push the boundaries of technique,form, and design.Transitioning from a retail store in San Francisco to a showroom in Stockholm in 2019, Peace Industrynow primarily operates online, employing 25 skilled felt makers in their Iranian workshop. Their eco-friendly rugs are crafted from 100% natural wool, sourced from free-range sheep, and dyed with chemical-free vegetable dyes. The felting process employs only olivesoap and hot water, ensuring everyone’s health and safety.Another Notable characteristic of these rugs is their versatility. Their substantial thickness allows for two distinct designs on each side of the rug, making these sustainable, biodegradable artifacts shine two fold.
