The idea behind the work

Inspired by the geometry of the Persian dome, its specific proportions have been inverted to create soft curves, this table is handcrafted.

Solid Studios is a design studio founded by Yalda Kiani in 2015, dedicated to crafting objects in collaboration with local artisans and using locally sourced materials. Drawing on a background in architecture, the studio aims to bridge the gap between architectural concepts and the creation of smaller, functional objects. With a passion for experimentation, Solid Studios takes on the responsibility of revitalizing traditional Persian craftsmanship to suit a modern context.

This artisanal furniture studio places great emphasis on evoking emotions in its audience and establishing a profound connection between them and the materials, be they natural or industrial. Each product is meticulously designed to narrate a story, guiding users to engage with different facets of architecture on a smaller, sculptural scale — akin to small beacons of artistry.
