The idea behind the work
The columns, which come in different sizes and shapes, are joined together in such a way as to create the impression of a monolithic mass, when in fact they are distinct and separate elements that are carefully assembled. This contrast evokes a sense of experience and interaction with elements inspired by architecture, inviting viewers to engage in both the complexity and simplicity of its design.
Solid Studios is a design studio founded by Yalda Kiani in 2015, dedicated to crafting objects in collaboration with local artisans and using locally sourced materials.
